- 1.) Make sure you have walking space in your unit to maneuver between items.
- 2.) Make shelves to organize items.
- 3.) Keep a record of everything you have in the unit.
- 4.) Have renters insurance for items as these are not covered by the facility.
- 5.) Have covers on furniture to repel the dust away.
- 6.) Make sure there is enough space between furniture as humidity can warp your valuables if they are too close together.
- 7.) Make sure all metal is dry before storing otherwise it could rust.
- 8.) Make sure to wrap glass and fragile items with protective pillow and paper wrapping.
- 9.) Put the most valuable items in the very back of unit.
- 10.) Make sure you don't have anything that could melt or freeze if you don't have a climate controlled unit.
